Airtel Promotes Giving Culture with ATL Initiative
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, while announcing the fifth season of the Airtel Touching Lives programme in Lagos said that its ‘Touching Lives initiative’ aims to promote the culture of giving among Nigerians.
“This is the fifth time in five years where we welcome nominations for various communities for them to tell us what is very important to them and how we can support the under- privileged in those communities.
“We firmly believe that poverty should never be a permanent feature of any society, helplessness should never be a permanent feature of any society. This is why we come in to support those who require support.
“I want to use this opportunity to encourage everybody to give support to people who require support. It is good to do good stuff. We have supported women; men and children, there are no boundaries. All we are after is creating a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.”
He, however, assured Airtel subscribers that Airtel would continue to provide quality 4G services to Nigeria, stressing that it would also expand its 4G network to many more cities in the country.
He added “We have the largest 4G network in the country in terms of numbers. We will continue to expand the reach of our 4G to cover as many cities as possible. We are going to touch many more cities. We are also not going to let anybody overtake us in the spread of our 4G network in this country.”
He urged Nigerians to participate in the fourth edition of the programme by nominating causes and persons who required help.
The Airtel MD said, “The nomination process is simple. Once you nominate an individual or cause, our team will review and assess the situation and determine if a follow-up visit will be required.”
