Ekiti State Pensions Commission (PENCOM) has registered 5,133 employees, representing 77 percent of eligible employees in the state.
The commission however said a total of 1,442 employees representing 23 percent are yet to be registered.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mr. James Akinola, who disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, said that the 23 percent were yet to comply with necessary requirements.
The PENCOM executive secretary, revealed that N59,090,537.39 for October and November, 2018 Contributory Pension Deduction Scheme (CPS) had been remitted to Pension Fund Custodians (PFCs).
He said that the expected percentages had also been remitted accordingly to all employees Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs).
He lauded the present administration for prompt payment of workers salary that made the contribution for the month of October, November and December 2018 possible.
The PENCOM boss said the actuarial valuation to determine the accrued benefit right of eligible employees in the contributory pension scheme as at 31st December, 2018 was still ongoing.
The Executive Secretary added that a draft report stating the staff gratuity and pension liability for 6,640 officers employed from Jan. 1, 2010 to 31st Dec. 31, 2016 had been submitted to the pension commission for action.
Akinola explained that appropriate administrative infrastructure had been put in place to capture exempted officers into the scheme through voluntary contribution platform.
